Määritettyä tiedostoa ei löydy - cannot find file (...), right?
Sounds like the DX9 updater is failing because there's no DX to update oO
You're still using the link I posted waaaay back on page 2? ( http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en )

Might as well pop in the windows xp cd and let it fix whatever it is that need fixing. Then reinstall DX 9.c after.

@Snograt: Yes, you are right. I downloaded a setup from that link, not helping.
@Etta: Sooo... I put the windows cd inside while my computer is on and I follow the instructions?

Yes, just watch it while it's doing its thing, and when given the option, choose "repair."
If that doesn't do the trick, just let it do a full install (oh boy - that's going to involve a lot of upgrading to SP2, then all the little finicky pre-requisites to SP3 :/)

Ffs... Windows cd not helping at all... dxdiag says that few files (gcdef.dll, dsound.dll) are old and it might bring some trouble...
So, what now?

Did you check the Event Viewer for any error messages under Application and System? If any exist, post them.
You can also try Dial-a-fix in case a DirectX or other runtime/ocx/dll file is not registered properly. You can also resolve your Windows Installer issues with Dial-a-fix. http://wiki.lunarsoft.net/wiki/Dial-a-fix
After reading through this thread, I agree about doing a format and reinstall. Just be sure to use your official Windows cd, or the OEM recovery partition.
Do you use something like nLite to try and "slim" your Windows? If so, there's your problem. If not, good; avoid it. It's very prone to causing a mass of problems, despite what the fanboys say.
This time after you reinstall, install SP3 right away and then run Windows Update.
Install this DirectX 9.0c (June 2008 ediiton):

Use the latest drivers for all of your hardware.

Well, you can try Dial-a-fix and using that DirectX link I gave above. Definitely get SP3 back on too.
Your best order would be IE7 if you don't have it as the updates to IECore help a lot, SP3, DirectX, and then run Dial-a-fix to be sure all DLL/OCX/etc are registered properly.
But use Dial-a-fix if you encounter any issues before IE7/SP3/etc.
If you still freeze up after all that though, be sure to check the Event Viewer and I can show you how to generate a full crash/freeze log to be analyzed.

Here's what I want you to do:
Start -> Run -> Regedit
look for: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DirectX
Here, delete the DirectX folder -> exit the Registry Editor -> restart your computer.
During the system startup, after the restart, your system will reinstall DirectX 8.1.
-> Download and Install DirectX 9 from Tarun's link: http://www.microsoft.com/Downloads/d...displaylang=en

Installed SP3, and it fixed the DirectX issue!!! Now I could run the setup, but it said that 'the newest version already installed' or something like that.
Windows installer problem came with sp3, used dial-a-fix and now installer works again!! Thanks Tarun!
Trying GW just atm, lets see if it works!
E: Interesting. I left GW on while I was away from the computer. It was in the taskbar, not open. So, I came back and my mouse wasnt moving. I tried to press some buttons at my keyboard, and that helped, and the mouse was working again. Gw working too atm.
I guess it'll freeze again. This thing is starting to get weeeird... :E

Hmm, all this random freezing sounds so much like overheating, which we ruled out ages ago :|
Wonder if the thermal sensors are shot? That would probably give outlandish readings though, rather than "safe" ones.

GW is very graphically intensive - especially with the later chapters/expansion. Some systems struggle with GW that don't struggle with HL2, UT2Kwhatever, and, er, stuff.
Don't know why - GW just makes some systems fall down :/

Oh god that's not good... I have spend nearly 100 euros to this game, and now I cant play it? GW support is bullshit, they answer to you one time in two days, and its like 'generate this log, and we'll analyze it for 5 days'.
Gosh, I hope I will get this shit working somehow, in time...
A big thanks to ALL the helpers, I'm not gonna name you one by one!
You have been a great help, though we didin't get this shat working
Keep up the good work Technicians 8)

You can try running GW with the lowest graphic settings and the lowest resolution and see if it still freezes. This will rule out overheating if it still freezes at lowest settings. Unless you properly reinstall DirectX I'm assuming this is what's causing the issues though.
